Data.Soul, the electrifying new project led by Shane Regan (Akrobat) in collaboration with Athens-based electronic artist Thomas Patas (Solid Skin) and musician Selen Korkutan, makes a bold entrance with the release of ‘My Data Soul’ - a debut single that soars with widescreen ambition, fuzzed-out textures and exquisite subtlety.
Marking the first offering from the upcoming self-titled Data.Soul EP, ‘My Data Soul’ is a triumphant statement of intent. It melds driven guitar with electronic undercurrents, culminating in a track that is as immersive as it is exhilarating. A full-blown, prismatic burst of energy and emotion, the song channels the intersection of indie rock, retro-pop, soul and electronica, delivering a deeply scopic soundscape. The production is wonderfully layered, a textured and unmistakable gem that unfolds with each listen.

An exploration
Born from Shane Regan’s years of exploration between Dublin, London and Athens, Data.Soul is a collaborative project that merges visceral musicality with a philosophical interrogation of technology’s impact on human expression. In collaboration with Thomas Patas and Selen Korkutan, Regan’s new project extends his sonic reach into uncharted territory.
For this debut release, Joe Lyons (bass, Deadcut, Fast Money Music) and Callum Brown (drums, Ulrika Spacek, A Ghost Column) lend their formidable talents. The track was produced, mixed and engineered by Lyons at Palace Garden Studios in London, with Neil Pickles (Pierce Music Studio) mastering the final cut.

Accompanying the single is a striking 16mm-shot music video, directed by Pietro Pingitore. Filmed in London’s Birds Nest pub in Deptford and Cable Street - a historic site of anti-fascist resistance - the video weaves themes of identity, transformation, and the tension between history and modernity. Drawing parallels between the rapid evolution of AI and the gentrification of multicultural spaces, it reflects the song’s deeper existential questions: How do we navigate change? Can the digital and the organic coexist?
